Keeping examination records accurate

How are results evidenced, verified and corrected?

Understand the details the school records and the checks that govern family visibility.

What information is kept with an external result?

The record includes the awarding body, qualification, syllabus or qualification code, subject, examination session and date, exact awarded result and a private original evidence version. Staff also record the evidence source and verification method.

When does a result become visible to families?

Unverified records are staff-only. The latest verified revision is available when external-result access is enabled and the pupil or guardian has the required school permissions and relationship.

Can a result be corrected after verification?

Yes. A correction or verification creates a new retained revision, preserving the previous result and evidence. Correcting a verified record requires verification authority, and the family reader shows the latest current verified revision.

What happens if a result record is voided?

An authorised verifier can create a void revision with a reason. The result leaves the family view while the earlier record and supporting evidence remain in the staff history.
