Planning a useful school notice

How do audiences, timing and later updates work?

Understand the choices around a published announcement and the notices that point readers to it.

Can a notice target one campus or course?

Yes, within the publisher’s permitted scope. Audiences can use the whole school, a campus or a course, with relevant groups such as students, teachers, staff and eligible parents.

Can we schedule a notice and keep it prominent?

Yes. Set its visible-from time, expiry and optional pinned-until time. Important announcements require the corresponding publishing permission.

Does publishing always send an email?

The publication preview includes a choice to notify readers using their preferences. Supported in-app and email notices follow the notification settings and recipient eligibility; publishing the announcement controls the notice itself.

Can an announcement be updated or withdrawn?

Yes. Prepare and publish an updated revision, with a change note when notifying readers about the update. Archiving removes the notice from current announcements while eligible course history can remain. Withdrawal removes reader access to the notice.
