Marking &
feedback

Turn student work into a useful next step.

Bring the work, the response and the next step together. Give teachers a clear place to assess understanding and students useful feedback to return to.

A considered response

Good feedback starts
with the work in front of you.

Read the submitted work

Review a student’s saved submission in its assessment context, with the task and attempt information close at hand.

Explore assignments

Prepare your response

Save marks and feedback as a private marking draft. Take time to check the score and explain what the student should revisit.

Release when ready

Share the completed result through the release action. Students see the feedback that has been released to them.

Make the next step useful

A mark to understand.
A response to act on.

Released feedback sits alongside the submitted work, helping students connect your comments to the method they used.

  • Explain what the student has understood.
  • Identify a specific point to improve.
  • Give a practical action for the next piece of work.

For your team

A useful exchange.
A clear next step.

Teachers

Make your feedback count.

Prepare and release results within your assigned marking and release permissions.

Students

Return to the response.

Read released marks and feedback alongside your submitted work.

Academic leaders

Support consistent assessment.

Use the gradebook’s result states to understand what is awaiting marking, prepared or released.

Preparing a useful response

When is feedback ready to share?

Learn how marking drafts, teacher-reviewed answers and corrections support a considered release.

Can I save feedback before sharing it?

Yes. Save a marking draft, then release the completed result when you are ready. Draft marks and feedback remain private staff work.

Can quizzes include teacher-marked answers?

Yes. Written responses support teacher marking. Teachers can also review supported automatic scores and provide question-level and overall feedback.

Can I correct a result after release?

Yes, with the appropriate permission. The correction workflow requires a reason and retains the earlier release in the result history.

Does no submission automatically mean zero?

No. Submission and marking states remain distinct. A missing submission is not automatically a released score of zero.
