Close quiz attempts and release answers
Who can use this: Teachers and staff with access to the course.
Before you start
Releasing answers and explanations permanently prevents new attempts for that quiz. Check every student’s window and active attempts first.
Close quiz attempts and release answers
- Open the quiz availability and release controls. Review whether you are closing new admissions or explicitly finishing active attempts.
- Apply the intended control with its required reason, then review any results held for marking or release.
- When all student windows and active attempts have ended, release answers and explanations if the class should see them.
What happens next
Students can see released solutions under the quiz’s result rules, and new attempts are disabled.
Troubleshooting
Closing admissions and finishing active attempts are different operations. Do not release answers while planning resits on the same quiz. Create a duplicate draft for a later assessment.
