Void an attempt or duplicate a quiz

Who can use this: Teachers and staff with access to the course.

Before you start

A void preserves an attempt’s history. A duplicate creates separate draft work and does not rewrite existing attempts.

Void an attempt or duplicate a quiz

  1. Open the quiz and inspect the attempt that needs correction.
  2. Use the permitted void action with a clear reason when the attempt should no longer count. Check any released result separately.
  3. To change published question content or run a new assessment after solutions were released, duplicate the quiz, review the new draft and publish it to the intended students.

What happens next

Historical attempts remain traceable while replacement work has its own publication and results.

Troubleshooting

Voiding is not deletion and should not be assumed to withdraw every related released grade automatically. Review the result status. A duplicated quiz must be assigned and published before students can use it.
