Correct assignment instructions after publication
Who can use this: Teachers and staff with access to the course.
Before you start
Existing attempts retain the instruction revision they answered. The assignment mode and maximum mark are fixed after publication.
Correct assignment instructions after publication
- Open the assignment editor and update the permitted instructions or settings.
- Save the correction and review the resulting assignment revision.
- Use the instruction revision shown on each attempt when marking. Tell students to read and acknowledge updated instructions when the assignment asks them to do so.
What happens next
The assignment keeps a history of instructions without rewriting earlier student attempts.
Troubleshooting
Do not assume an old submission answered the latest instructions. If the assessment mode or maximum mark needs to change, prepare separate work instead of trying to reinterpret existing attempts.
