Deactivate or reactivate an inventory item

Before you start

Select the location whose stock you are changing. A transfer requires Multiple Branches and access to the relevant operation.

Deactivate or reactivate an inventory item

Where to go: Inventory > open item

1. Review current stock and any work involving the item.
2. Use Mark Inactive to retire it from normal use.
3. Use Reactivate Item if the item should be available again.
4. Recheck its status in the list.

What happens next

The item’s supported status changes while its history remains.

Troubleshooting

Deactivating an item is not a physical stock transfer or a record that goods were sold.
