Use Trash and understand storage limits

Who can use this: Users with Files access; storage administrators for academy policy.

Before you start

Choose the intended library. File access depends on the library and any linked source record, not simply possession of a URL.

Use Trash and understand storage limits

  1. Move an unwanted file to Trash using its offered action.
  2. Restore it if needed, or review Empty Trash before permanent cleanup.
  3. Administrators can inspect academy usage, pending uploads, personal caps and member allowances in Storage settings.
  4. Save policy or a member cap only after checking the intended units and scope.

What happens next

The supported lifecycle or allowance setting is applied.

Troubleshooting

Private personal libraries still share academy capacity. Personal caps are ceilings, not reserved extra storage. Lowering a cap blocks new allocations without deleting existing files; retained references and cleanup processing can delay space release.
