Create an offline assessment and enter marks

Who can use this: Teachers and staff with access to the course.

Before you start

Use an offline assessment for work marked outside an online submission or quiz. It still needs course access and an appropriate maximum mark.

Create an offline assessment and enter marks

  1. Open Gradebook and create an offline assessment with its title, course and scoring settings.
  2. Publish it to the intended eligible students before entering bulk marks.
  3. For bulk entry, enter and review the marks and feedback, then select Release changed offline scores. A successful batch makes those results visible to students. For an individual result, save its marking draft and release the saved result on the marking page.

What happens next

Released offline results join the course gradebook alongside other released assessment results.

Troubleshooting

Bulk entry applies only to published offline assessments. Resolve an existing individual marking draft on its marking page first. The gradebook does not make an offline assessment an online submission activity.
